The Art of Gabbeh - August exhibition at our new gallery space in Marchmont

THE ART OF GABBEH
Modern Designs from Old Looms – A Selling Exhibition of Contemporary Hand-Woven Carpets
Saturday 9th – Saturday 23rd August
We’re delighted to announce the first exhibition in our brand-new gallery space in Marchmont, Edinburgh – and it's a beauty. We invite you to explore our new collection of contemporary handwoven gabbeh rugs from SW Persia.

THE ART OF GABBEH is a celebration of bold design, time-honoured technique, and the enduring charm of hand-woven rugs. This special selling exhibition brings together a stunning collection of contemporary Gabbeh carpets – each one individually made using traditional methods, yet bursting with modern colour, abstract patterns, and expressive flair.
Woven by hand, by tribal weavers in SW Persia, Gabbehs are known for their thick pile, rich dyes, and minimalist or geometric designs. Each carpet tells a story – some playful, some meditative – all deeply rooted in the heritage of nomadic craftsmanship.
Expect to see pieces that sit beautifully in contemporary homes but carry the soul of centuries-old weaving traditions. Whether you're a collector, a design enthusiast, or simply someone looking to add warmth and originality to a room, this is an opportunity to discover something truly special.
Join us from Saturday 9th to Saturday 23rd August
