2 ways to help care for your rugs.
A rug (or large carpet or kilim/flatweave) laid straight on the floor can often skid around or on fitted carpet may creep. We offer 4 practical solutions. In all cases underlay will give a softness underfoot, eliminate slipping, and over the long term it will reduce wear. Underlay is part of good rug care, along with cleaning periodically (see here for information on this). If you want a sample, please email.
Super Velvet Underlay 
A high quality underlay to support rugs, carpets and kilims on wood, laminate, tile or stone floors.
The traditional felt is entirely recycled. It is made from textile trade dross which provides cushioning with minimal shedding of fibres. The crumbed rubber underside stops any slipping and doesn't mark floors.
We can work out what is needed for your rug and cut to order, usually allowing about 4cms overlap of your rug, all round. It is supplied in 7.3 x 1.36m rolls. Some rug sizes relative to the roll width mean its better to allow a greater overlap. If a carpet needs two or more pieces of underlay, it may be desirable to join them with heat bonded tape.

AKO Profilo V Mesh Underlay 
This is a premium 3mm thick anti-slip mesh underlay with a close pattern lattice for enhanced grip and cushioning. Designed for rugs on hard floors*. The mesh is coated on both sides with a unique PVC foam designed with a dual thickness lattice for optimum airflow, prolonging your rugs life span. Recommended for use with underfloor heating. Profilo mesh underlay is a great option for those looking for a premium underlay at an affordable price and with the benefit of a low impact environmental profile.
*Important note about this products: if the flooring is treated with water-based lacquers, allow at least 3 months full drying time before using Ako Profilo V Underlay. Only suitable for floorings treated with solvent-free sealants. Not suitable for vinyl floor tiles.
