There's always a sense of anticipation when a new shipment arrives at The Nomads Tent, but this latest delivery of Afghan rugs has been particularly exciting.

After a long journey from the looms and weaving villages of Afghanistan to our gallery in Edinburgh's bustling Marchmont neighbourhood, our newest collection of handwoven rugs and kilims has arrived. Unpacking the pallet felt a little like wandering through a vibrant bazaar, as each layer revealed another beautiful rug or kilim waiting to be discovered.

Every shipment is different, and that's part of the appeal. No two handwoven rugs are ever exactly alike. Each one carries the character of the weaver, the region it comes from and the natural materials used to create it. Rich reds, deep indigos, warm earth tones and intricate geometric patterns sit alongside softer, more contemporary designs, giving this collection something to suit almost every home.
