SITAR AND TABLA WITH ETIENNE & DAVE Saturday 13th August, 6pm
Join Etienne Bartholomew and Dave Beards for an intimate evening of traditional Sitar and Tabla music here at The Nomads Tent.
Etienne has been studying the sitar since the age of 17 practicing and refining his art to express and invoke emotion, discover states of peace, bring joy and support processes of transformation through music.
Studying both here in Edinburgh as well as in India, Etienne was initiated to the art of Indian classical music by Mehboob Nadeem. He continued his studies with Tarak Nath Mishra in Varanasi and more recently Ramprapanna Bhattacharya. Etienne's music centers around the sitar and the melodies of the Indian Raags, a style of music set in a deep and rich Indian classical tradition and utilising a collection of melodic movements, microtones and moods to inspire various 'rasa' - states of peace, devotion and passion in both musician and listener alike.
Etienne's thoughtful and energetic performances are enjoyed throughout the UK and Europe. Listen to some of Etienne's music here.
