Our 2023 Edinburgh Fringe selling exhibition features classic and contemporary Moroccan pottery noted for its vibrant colours and intricate geometric patterns. This thoughtful and utilitarian collection reveals inspiration from Islamic art, Moorish-Spanish influences and Berber simplicity.
Our Moroccan themed exhibition results from a serendipitous meeting with Martha Rafferty, creator of Maison Maroc, for which she designed and commissioned some fabulous original pottery. Included in our selection are Martha's pared back striped designs from Safi and her contemporary take on classical Fez pottery designs that adopt a monochrome palate offset by splashes of vibrant colour. Also on display are examples of traditional Moroccan ceramics and hand made encaustic tiles, alongside our hand selected Boujaad and Taznacht rugs, a variety of hand dyed Moroccan leather goods, as well as carved wood and woven crafts sourced during Martha’s time living in Morocco.
